I HELP BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS GET RECOGNIZED FOR THEIR EXPERTISE. THIS HELPS THEM FIND MORE OF THE WORK THEY LOVE TO DO. I DO THIS THROUGH HELPING THEM CREATE GENUINELY USEFUL CONTENT IN TEXT, VIDEO, AUDIO AND INFOGRAPHICS.
I love working with really smart people who are thought leaders in their areas of expertise. That expertise may be on a narrow, geeky topic – such as designing mine tailings dams, locating sites for wind power projects, or keeping pipelines safe. I help them present their ideas in an accessible way, that demonstrates their ability to get good results for their clients.
What You Won’t Learn From My Bio
I really enjoy challenging outdoor experiences, and that’s year-round including skiing and snowshoeing, and camping in the wilderness in the winter. It’s all about being prepared, and being with people who also know what they’re doing. I’m on the board of an organization that provides scholarships for secondary school and university students in Kenya, and I’ve been able to make several trips there to meet some of the wonderful young people whose lives we’ve impacted, and see what they’ve accomplished.

The fine print
I went to the Carleton School of Journalism in Ottawa, Canada with the goal of becoming a reporter. I worked on three different daily newspapers before I found my focus on writing not news, but features. After a few years of being a staff writer and freelancer, I discovered professional services marketing, and spent seven years in media relations for a global accounting firm. This morphed into what became called thought leadership and content marketing. Now, I get to work with business professionals all over the world, helping showcase their expertise, so they’re able to get more of the work they find rewarding.
